What is a practice-based network?
A practice-based network is a group of healthcare providers or clinical practices that collaborate to conduct research aimed at improving patient care in real-world settings. Unlike traditional academic research, PBRNs focus on questions that arise directly from everyday clinical practice and are designed to produce findings that can be quickly applied to improve outcomes. These networks often use shared data systems, such as electronic health records, to study trends, test interventions, and evaluate quality improvement efforts. By participating, physicians can contribute to meaningful research while gaining insights to enhance their own practice.
